I don't want to use English that way, I'm just curious and would like to study it. So if you find a good used copy of an older edition, I'd grab it. Can anyone recommend a prescriptive English grammar (book) to me? It should cover I have been to several bookshops and it seems that all the grammars published today are descriptive, even those published by Cambridge and Oxford, and famously the third edition of Fowler's MEU.
